“The process of unravelling my thoughts through art creates a sense of connection both with myself and the world around me.”
Ellen Cook is an emerging ceramic artist living in Bristol. Her thrown functional ware and hand-built sculptural pieces focus on organic movements, pattern and colours to convey emotion. Her work is process driven and echo her experience of the natural landscape.
Ellen completed a post-baccalaureate diploma at the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design from 2022-2023, studying Ceramics and Abstract Landscape. Her explorations in abstract painting influenced her ceramic practice through tone, texture and form. She is currently experimenting with different glaze chemistry and methods of application.
She has exhibited in Halifax and has sold functional ware in cafes and markets in Canada and the UK. She continues to sell her work at local markets in Bristol and Somerset.
